Job Summary
Design and implement robust backend systems, APIs, and end-to-end solutions spanning Node.js, database layers, and frontend integration. Develop optimized database schemas and queries, integrate third-party services and AI providers, and collaborate on technical architecture decisions. Maintain the codebase for performance and reliability while participating in rotating Support Engineer duties to keep the team close to real user needs. This full-time, on-site role in Berlin offers substantial ownership from day one within an early-stage startup building an enterprise-ready, model-agnostic AI platform used across Europe. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of full-stack web development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, React / Next.js, and TypeScript
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and SQL — data modeling, querying, and query optimization
- Proficiency with Tailwind CSS for frontend styling
- Experience owning features end-to-end, from conception through production deployment
- Experience building AI-powered features or integrating AI/ML services into applications
- Experience designing robust APIs and integrating with third-party services and AI providers
- Ability and willingness to contribute to technical architecture and system design discussions
- Strong CS fundamentals
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across product and cross-functional teams
- Willingness to work on-site in Berlin, Germany
Desired Qualifications
- Background in enterprise SaaS or B2B productivity tooling
- Familiarity with compliance, security, or data governance requirements in enterprise environments
