Job Summary
Design, develop, test, and maintain NestJS backends and Vue.js frontend features end-to-end, from clarified requirements through to production-ready releases. Own feature delivery by estimating work, communicating progress, surfacing trade-offs early, and seeing tasks through to release. Make sound technical implementation decisions within the team's architecture, write automated unit and integration tests, and actively participate in design discussions and code reviews. Proactively identify bugs and reliability gaps, propose practical fixes, and use AI developer tooling productively within team standards. Collaborate across firmware, electronics, product, and commercial disciplines as needed. Participate in the team's shared on-call roster with clear runbooks and backup support.
Required Qualifications
- Professional software engineering experience
- Meaningful full stack delivery (or strong depth on one side of the stack and proven ability to work across both)
- Experience delivering features in Node.js / NestJS and Vue.js (or closely equivalent frameworks)
- Experience with RESTful APIs
- Experience with SQL databases, including schema design for features you own
- Experience with automated testing using tools such as Jest and Cypress
- Comfortable estimating your own work, managing delivery of features independently, and communicating progress clearly
- Melbourne based
- Valid, unrestricted work rights in Australia
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
- Exposure to IoT, real-time data, or energy/cleantech domains
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day development
- Passion for clean tech / clean energy
