Job Summary
Architect and develop highly-leveraged, scalable messaging and eventing platforms that empower business workflows, deliver notifications, and facilitate real-time collaboration across global content pipelines. Build and operate robust frontend widgets and backend services using Java, C#, GraphQL, or RESTful APIs, focusing on developer experience, observability, and operational excellence. Lead cross-functional initiatives to transform business needs into technical designs, manage scope, and drive delivery from ambiguous goals to launched products. Mentor peers, drive incident response, and improve team reliability through rigorous scoping and clear communication of complex technical concepts.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in architecting and developing highly-leveraged platforms that other engineering teams build on, across the full software stack
- Solid backend expertise in architecting microservices, including their data structures and APIs, using Java, C#, or comparable object-oriented languages
- Apply rigorous OO design principles to deliver high performance, strong observability, and seamless extensibility
- Have recent, hands-on experience building complex, high-quality user interfaces with HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS
- Have exposure to React and modern frontend architecture (component design, state management, performance optimization)
- A strong eye for UI/UX craft
- Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives with design, product, and engineering partners
- Manage scope, balance tradeoffs, orchestrate dependencies across teams, and drive delivery from ambiguous goal to launched, operable product
- Proven ability to communicate and influence across audiences by distilling complex technical and business concepts for engineers, product, and leadership
- Drive alignment and decisions through clear writing, design docs, and reviews
- Track record of operational ownership by leading incident response and post-incident reviews
- Drive the reliability, observability, and on-call improvements to raise the team's bar
- Define the problem before defining the solution
- Turns ambiguity into crisp, measurable problems
- Communicate clearly to align the team and stakeholders
- Iteratively deliver real business value through rigorous scoping
- Shape how the team designs and builds through influence
- Coach and mentor peers and junior engineers to raise the bar
- Understand and challenge the 'why'
- Contribute ideas with reasoning rather than just implementing a spec
- Seek early feedback on what you build
- Weigh tradeoffs with data
- Avoid over-engineering
- Make good calls with incomplete information
- Favor reusable patterns others can build on
- Identify root causes
- Deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions across the stack
- Own results through production
- Experience in architecting and developing messaging bus, asynchronous data processing, workflow orchestration and other related infrastructure platform domains
- Deep understanding of and/or hands-on experience applying distributed systems concepts such as partitioning, idempotency, backpressure and distributed tracing
Desired Qualifications
- Proactively leverage AI to amplify impact by accelerating decisions through rapid prototyping
- Blur cross-functional boundaries
- Transform team processes into AI-powered ones
