Job Summary
Design, develop, and unit test RESTful microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and JUnit while building web applications with Angular, React, and modern front-end technologies. Develop components that communicate with backend services and enterprise data sources, write complex SQL queries, and support data modeling activities. Participate in technical design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within a large Agile team, translating high-level requirements into scalable solutions. Collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver mission-focused results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This hybrid role in Ashburn, VA requires one to two days of onsite support and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Nine (9) or more years of technical experience in software development
- Strong experience with microservices architecture and service-based application design
- Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot development
- Experience developing REST and SOAP web services
- Experience with AWS-based development or deployment environments
- Working knowledge of SQL, JPA, and Hibernate
- Comfortable using development tools such as Eclipse and Visual Studio Code
- Experience working within an Agile development approach
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to take high-level requirements, ask clarifying questions, and deliver results
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust position and favorable suitability determination based on a CBP background investigation
- Must be available for onsite support one to two days per week
- Must be available for additional onsite presence as required by mission needs
- Must be able to lift up to ten (10) pounds
- Must be flexible in working extended hours
- Must be willing to go through pre-employment screening
