Job Summary
Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in .NET / C# while developing responsive frontend features using modern JavaScript frameworks. Own complex features end-to-end, from design and implementation through testing, release, and monitoring, and debug issues across services to resolve data sync problems. Design and evolve data models for SQL and NoSQL databases, drive performance and reliability through automated testing and code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling. Mentor junior engineers, review peers' work, and participate in architectural discussions to lead small initiatives. Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to refine scope and deliver seamless application experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years building applications with .NET / C#
- Solid frontend experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular, React, or Blazor
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and TypeScript
- Strong experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
- Experience building maintainable, well-tested code
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Sound data modeling skills
- Good understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Ability to deliver complex features independently with high quality and reliability
- Ability to reason about performance, scalability, and technical trade-offs
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Git)
- Comfort working in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Track record of clearly sharing progress and raising risks early
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
- Must be available for on-site work minimum of 3 days per week in downtown Chicago, IL
- Must be a direct-hire position (no agencies or contractors)
