Job Summary
Design, build, and ship end-to-end features across APIs, services, and responsive user interfaces for reinsurance broking and analytics platforms. Develop cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure using PaaS, containers, and infrastructure-as-code, while integrating external market and client systems via API-first and event-driven patterns. Implement AI-enabled product features using retrieval-augmented generation and tool integration, alongside AI-assisted engineering workflows with tools like Claude Code. Practice test-driven development to write secure, maintainable code applying authentication, authorization, and data protection patterns. Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to shape greenfield architectural standards and mentor delivery partners.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance or wider financial services
- Strong programming skills in C#/.NET or Python
- Solid API design
- Strong SQL
- Practical experience building modern user interfaces with React or Angular and TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with Azure
- CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Experience building to architectural standards
- Microservices
- Event-driven and API-led design
- Strong grounding in security patterns (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Entra ID, RBAC)
- Secure coding practices
- Comfortable working with relational databases
- Data-heavy application features
- Eye for query performance
- Experience building with LLMs and AI-enabled solutions
- Clear appetite to learn
- Familiarity with agentic patterns

Desired Qualifications
