Job Summary
Design, build, and ship end-to-end features across APIs, services, and responsive user interfaces on Microsoft Azure using cloud-native patterns and infrastructure-as-code. Consume data through APIs and surface it performantly for brokers and analysts while integrating with external market platforms, carrier systems, and vendor SaaS products. Develop AI-enabled product features using retrieval-augmented generation, tool integration, and human-in-the-loop design, leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools in your daily workflow. Practice test-driven development to write secure, maintainable code applying authentication, authorization, and data protection patterns from the start. Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to shape architectural standards, review code, and mentor others across this greenfield estate.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience of professional software engineering experience
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance or wider financial services
- Strong programming skills in C#/.NET or Python
- Solid API design
- Strong SQL
- Practical experience building modern user interfaces with React or Angular and TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with Azure
- CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Experience building to architectural standards
- Applying common patterns such as microservices, event-driven and API-led design
- Strong grounding in security patterns (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Entra ID, RBAC)
- Secure coding practices
- Comfortable working with relational databases
- Data-heavy application features
- Eye for query performance
- Experience building with LLMs and AI-enabled solutions
- Clear appetite to learn
- Familiarity with agentic patterns

Desired Qualifications
