Job Summary
Develop and maintain backend services including APIs, authentication, rate limiting, and background jobs. Build and enhance the internal admin tool for dispatcher consoles, driver onboarding, and wallet management. Design and optimize data models in PostgreSQL/PostGIS while integrating SMS, OTP, push notifications, and payment systems. Collaborate on API contracts and real-time features with the mobile engineer, supporting deployments, observability, and on-call operations. Requires 5+ years of production engineering experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, and Docker.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of production engineering experience across backend and frontend
- Strong skills in APIs, data modeling, relational databases, and modern web frameworks
- Experience with deployments, Docker, and observability tools
- Comfortable with shifting scope and working in a small, fast-moving team
- Working English
- Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and realtime systems (Ably, WebSockets)
- Background in marketplaces, ledger systems, or money flows
- Strong testing instincts and operational experience
