Job Summary
Develop highly reliable, mission-critical software solutions used across SpaceX to accelerate launch vehicle production and support the Starlink satellite constellation. Create new applications that improve operational workflows, build prototypes to prove design concepts, and own all aspects of software engineering from architecture to deployment. Deep dive into user problems to find efficient solutions while bringing your voice to team collaborations on code reviews and system design. Work with diverse perspectives to produce solutions enabling rapid progress toward goals involving crewed launches and high-throughput manufacturing. Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed and pass an Air Force background check.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline
- 2+ years of professional experience building software
- Experience in full stack development
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national
- Must be a U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
- Must be a Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157
- Must be an Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
- Must be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desired Qualifications
- Programming experience in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar object-oriented language
- 1+ years of rigorous experience building single page web applications
- Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts
- Expertise in designing software systems
- Deep understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment & monitoring
- Expertise in profiling and improving application performance
- Experience with build systems (Make, Bazel/Pants/Buck, Gradle) and package management tools (pip, npm)
- Experience working with in-stream data processing using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar technologies
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Front-end experience in Angular, React, or similar JavaScript framework
- Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies
