Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications and backend services for the COMPASS bus operations analytics platform. Build RESTful APIs and microservices using React, Node.js, or Java Spring Boot while integrating with internal and external systems. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, implement secure coding practices, and perform unit and integration testing. Collaborate with UI/UX designers and business users to enhance usability, participate in Agile sprint activities, and support production troubleshooting and knowledge transfer. Work closely with the LTA COMPASS team to ensure platform sustainability and meet evolving operational needs through predictive maintenance and AI-enabled insights.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in fullstack application development and building enterprise-grade web applications
- Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies such as ReactJS, Angular, Vue.js, or equivalent frameworks
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript
- Strong proficiency in backend development using Node.js, Python or Java Spring Boot
- Experience implementing frontend best practices including responsive design, accessibility, performance optimization, component-based architectures, and state management
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, API integration, and microservices architecture
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS, with familiarity in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server
- Experience with GitLab source control, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
