Job Summary
Lead the design and development of front-end and back-end application features while providing technical leadership to team members. Architect secure authentication systems, standardize reusable UI components, and build integrations with enterprise tools to support manufacturing operations. Create CI/CD pipelines, harden proof-of-concept applications for production, and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability. Collaborate on architecture discussions, code reviews, and documentation to define shared engineering standards. This mid-level role requires 5+ years of full-stack experience and hybrid work at the Kitchener office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional experience building and deploying full-stack web applications in production environments
- Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and maintaining secure, reliable applications used by internal or external business users
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or equivalent framework, and strong experience with at least one back-end technology stack such as Node.js, Python or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with building responsive, component-based UI with modern front-end frameworks such as React or equivalent
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs or service-to-service connections across multiple systems
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization patterns such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, or equivalent enterprise access models
- Experience and close familiarity with using AI tools, agents and APIs to optimize work flows, processes and prototyping
- Experience with Git-based development workflows, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud or containerized environments (Docker) and familiarity with monitoring, logging, and debugging production systems
- Solid understanding of software architecture, data modeling, system design, performance optimization, and maintainable code structure
- Ability to translate business requirements, wireframes, and process pain points into production-ready technical solutions using tools such as Figma or equivalent
- Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with development in Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate Tools
- Hybrid working from the Kitchener office (Tannery Building) and from home
- Occasional travel may be required to support troubleshooting and deployment with stakeholders, other Trusscore facilities, vendors, contractors, or for other business reasons
Desired Qualifications
- Experience building or maintaining design systems or shared component libraries
- Experience with infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform), Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-native deployment tooling
- Experience integrating with enterprise systems such as ERPs, Manufacturing execution and analytics systems, industrial automation and their communication protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT) and manufacturing-related platforms
