Job Summary
Full Stack Developer role for a 100% U.S.-based remote opportunity within Syms Strategic Group supporting a cloud-based Web Dashboard that processes healthcare EDI transactions. Responsible for building, migrating, and maintaining RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS, integrating with internal EDI pipelines, and supporting an Angular-based frontend. Collaborates with back-end C#/.Net and AWS data engineers to define API contracts and ensure reliable data delivery, writes clean, testable code, conducts unit/integration testing, and supports deployment and monitoring on AWS within an Agile team. Requires strong experience with healthcare data, API design, cloud services, containerization, Git workflows, and a proactive, distributed work style. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years of software development experience with a strong back-end focus (Java and/or NodeJS)
- 8+ years of experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
- Hands-on Angular experience with the ability to integrate APIs and contribute to front-end components
- Experience with Java and/or NodeJS back-end integration work and Angular front-end UI
- An understanding of structured healthcare data
- Experience with AWS cloud services (API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch)
- Proficiency with Git/GitHub
- Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks (JUnit, Jest, or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders and cross-functional engineers
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) and JIRA
- U.S. Citizenship required for this position
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements in API and web applications
- Experience with containerization (Docker, ECS, EKS)
- Familiarity with C#/.Net back-end services for cross-team integration
- Experience working with remote U.S.-based teams (Not Offshore)
