Fuel Technician

Job Summary
Fuel vehicles, record fuel activity, maintain proper inventory, and reconcile DEF levels while checking oil and tire pressure. Move heavy-duty vehicles, wash and detail vehicles including windows, and perform multi-point inspections on inbound units per company policy. Report service issues to the shop, execute minor maintenance tasks like tire repairs and wheel alignment, and assist with facility maintenance and environmental compliance. Keep the fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and perform other duties as assigned. This role requires a valid CDL Class A, DOT safety clearance, and three years of related experience. Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, second shift Tuesday through Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must pass a DOT physical
- Must pass a Ryder road test
- Must pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Must be able to understand customer's verbal communication
- Must be able to understand codes and instructions on the computer
- Must be able to perform data entry
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays
- Must be able to work at different locations
- Must be able to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors)
- Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
- Must be flexible to operate, and self-driven to excel, in a fast-paced environment
- Must be capable for multi-tasking and highly organized, with excellent time management skills
- Must be detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices
- Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Three (3) years or more of related work experience, preferred
- Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Understanding of computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email
- High degree of thoroughness and dependability
- Ability to work at different locations
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors)
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
