Job Summary
Drive school system fuel truck to deliver diesel to campus buses, operating pumps, monitoring meters, and completing pre- and post-trip inspections. Load and unload fuel safely while maintaining logs of driving hours, product measurements, and delivery paperwork. Perform basic preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles including fluid changes, filter replacements, and brake checks. Assist senior mechanics with troubleshooting, part replacements, and minor repairs on fuel tanks, valves, and hoses to prevent leaks. Adhere strictly to DOT and OSHA safety rules while handling equipment up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) without an automatic restriction
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) and Tanker endorsements (or ability to acquire them quickly)
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, equipment servicing, and vehicle maintenance systems
- Ability to lift heavy hoses and equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) and OSHA safety rules
