Fuel Storage Tank Service Technician

Job Summary
Complete required training, including 40-hour HAZWOPER, then perform compliance tests and troubleshoot repairs on underground and aboveground storage tank systems. Submit reports using the digital system while communicating professionally with clients across gas stations, marinas, and airports. Work independently following all safety protocols and physical requirements, including climbing ladders and lifting heavy lids. Initial training occurs in Richardson, TX, followed by 50–75% overnight travel with 2–3 week deployments during peak seasons. Valid driver's license, clean MVR, and current ICC UST/AST certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- Complete required training, including 40-hour HAZWOPER
- Perform compliance tests (spill bucket, vapor recovery, A/B Inspections, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and repair UST/AST equipment
- Submit reports and timecards using our digital system
- Communicate with clients and represent TAIT professionally
- Work independently and follow all safety protocols
- Comfortable traveling & working independently
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with hand tools
- Dependable, detail-oriented and eager to learn
- Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office)
- 2-4+ years in petroleum, mechanical, or environmental services
- Valid/Current ICC UST/AST certification and Veeder Root Install/Removal certification
- Strong troubleshooting skills with UST/AST systems
- Familiar with industry regulations and reports
- Ready to lead projects or mentor others
- A proactive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings or service manuals
- Excellent communication skills when working with clients and teammates
- Complete background check, MVR, drug test, and physical
- Valid driver's license & clean driving record
- Able to climb ladders, kneel, lift heavy lids (with assistance), and work on uneven ground
- Physically fit to travel and work in field conditions
- 25–50% overnight travel
- 50–75% overnight travel
