Job Summary
Steam mining and support equipment while performing general yard cleanup and assisting mechanics and servicepersons with day-to-day tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Conduct complete equipment and area walk-arounds, safety checks, and field-level risk assessments to ensure all machinery operates properly. Report any necessary repairs, incidents, or near misses to the maintenance team immediately while maintaining compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies. Utilize adequate PPE and review safe work plans and hazard assessments prior to job commencement. This physically demanding role involves working in adverse conditions across Suncor, Syncrude, and Kearl sites, with a 14x7 schedule of 12-hour days including nights. Candidates must hold a valid Class 3 Driver's License with an Air Brake Endorsement, obtainable within the first three months.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement
- Must be able to operate a standard vehicle
- Must be a self-starter
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- CSO Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 may also be accepted for candidates with related experience
- It will be expected for a Class 3 License (with Air Brake Endorsement) to be obtained within the first 3 months of employment
- Preference will be given to candidates with related experience or mechanical background
- Experience operating forklift, bobcat and loader would be an asset
- Aerial Work Platform (AWP) and Fall Arrest Certification would be an asset
- Access to Suncor, Syncrude and Syncrude Aurora & Kearl
- A safety-first attitude
- Attentive and possess strong listening skills
- High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset
- Must be able to operate a standard vehicle
