Job Summary
Perform fuel filtering, polishing, and contamination removal services on diesel systems for generators and storage tanks. Test fuel quality, identify issues like water intrusion or microbial growth, and operate filtration equipment to restore operational standards. Replace filters, inspect tanks and piping, and conduct preventive maintenance while preparing detailed service reports. Respond to scheduled and emergency calls across South Florida, communicating with customers and adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations. Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean condition while wearing required PPE. Requires valid driver's license, ability to lift 75 pounds, and occasional weekend or after-hours work.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, fuel systems, diesel engines, power generation, or related field service work.
- Basic understanding of diesel fuel systems and fuel contamination issues.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service assignments.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, squat, and climb ladders.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and industrial environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and respiratory protection when necessary.
- Frequent travel to customer locations throughout South Florida and surrounding service areas.
- Occasional evening, weekend, and emergency response work may be required.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing fuel polishing or fuel filtration services.
- Experience in power generation or generator service industries.
- Knowledge of fuel storage tank maintenance and environmental compliance.
- Forklift certification.
