Job Summary

Coordinate all responsibilities and activities for operation personnel during assigned shifts at the LaGuardia Airport fuel facility. Ensure preventative maintenance and quality control requirements are performed to meet industry standards, including reviewing shift paperwork, daily reports, work orders, and records. Support Tank Farm Operators as required and perform other duties as assigned. This role involves sustained physical effort outdoors in all weather conditions, including climbing ladders up to 50 feet and operating equipment up to 26 feet. Candidates must possess leadership experience, familiarity with fuel quality assurance practices, and the ability to handle hazardous substances and high-pressure systems. Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
  • Pass a federal fingerprint background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Leadership experience and/or skills
  • Familiarity with Fuel Quality Assurance and Fuel Quality Control industry practices, along with applicable ATA, IATA, OSHA standards
  • Ability to calculate figures such as loss/gains, inventories, inches/feet to gallons/barrels conversions
  • Small engine experience
  • Electronic diagnosis ability
  • 1-year related experience working on gasoline or aviation fuel trucks or fuel farms and/or training – and/or combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of internet software and smart phone apps
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to commute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders with 50+ steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more, including high, precarious places
  • Must be able to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights
  • Must be able to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes, including automated lifts up to 26 feet
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead
  • Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level
  • Must be able to shovel materials such as snow, sand, dirt, gravel, or rocks as needed
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, climb, and balance for extended periods of time
  • Perform repetitive physical movements, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining awkward or physically demanding positions
  • Capable of climbing and standing on step ladders while performing overhead work, such as connecting fueling hoses
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools, equipment, and controls
  • Hear and respond to verbal instructions, environmental sounds, and audible alarms
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • Color vision (identify and distinguish between colors)
  • Peripheral vision (see up/down and side-to-side while focused on a central point)
  • Depth perception (assess distance and spatial relationships)
  • Ability to adjust focus (sharpen vision at various distances)
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
  • Tolerate frequent exposure to: Moderate to high noise levels (with use of appropriate hearing protection)
  • Tolerate frequent exposure to: Fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous substances, materials, or waste
  • Work near or around: Moving mechanical parts
  • Work near or around: High-voltage equipment
  • Work near or around: Hydraulic and pneumatic systems operating under high pressure
  • Work in elevated or precarious positions, such as on lifts, ladders, or elevated platforms
  • Employment is contingent upon compliance with company substance-abuse policies and may include pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, as permitted by law
