Job Summary
Route scheduled stops, complete trip sheets and shipping bills, and off-load trucks using material handling equipment. Load trucks with donations from house calls or stations, pack and secure loads, and verify product content accuracy. Provide direction to helpers, maintain truck cleanliness, and perform daily safety operational checks. Drive a Bobtail truck according to highway rules, monitor vehicle conditions, and instruct trainees on operational procedures. Communicate policies to donors and store personnel while enforcing all company procedures and DOT regulations. Work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays, lifting up to 50 lbs, and adapt to operational changes.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in the English language
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Good driving record
- Minimum six months experience driving Bobtail trucks
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to drive company vehicles
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or holidays as required
- Ability to follow company dress code, which requires wearing a uniform at all times, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to coordinate hand-eye-foot movement to safely maneuver in and out of trucks and trailers, operate vehicle controls, walk up and down ramps and lift and/or stack donations
- Ability to understand and accept directions, follow procedures
- Ability to read maps and plan route schedule based on address/locations of scheduled tickets
- Ability to understand and speak English
- Ability to receive a series of tasks and carry them out as instructed
- Ability to maintain flexible work schedule and work extended shifts based on operational needs
- Ability to examine items and visually differentiate between them based on quality standards
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors, leads, and other coworkers
- Ability to meet and maintain established standards
- Being able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
