Job Summary
Operate the whey evaporator and rare earth filter equipment per SOPs to ensure safe, efficient production. Monitor the quality of incoming raw materials and outgoing product, adjust equipment to maximize operations, and maintain sanitation and clean/well-organized work areas. Accurately complete paperwork, communicate with forepersons and supervisors, and work within GMP standards while wearing PPE. Must be able to work nights (6:00pm-6:30am), weekends, holidays, and off-shifts, and lift up to 50 lbs in a hot/humid environment. Previous manufacturing and/or dairy experience and strong teamwork/communication skills are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Be able to work weekends, holidays, and off-shifts
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position
- Must maintain clean work area according to GMP's
- Must perform all work in a safe manner
- Must be capable of ascending and descending several flights of stairs
- Must be able to work in hot/humid environment and lift 50 lbs. bags
- Monitoring the quality of the incoming raw material and outgoing product
- Operation of the evaporator, rare earth filter, pumps, valves, lab equipment, various control instruments, and the CIP system
- Make the necessary adjustments to maximize operations
- Monitor sanitation of equipment and good housekeeping practices continually
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, forepersons, and supervisors
- Complete paperwork accurately
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Experience in food or dairy industries
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
