Job Summary
Lab Assistant with phlebotomy training sought to perform routine tests, specimen processing, venipuncture across ages, equipment maintenance, and QC/QA tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining LIS/EMR documentation, ensuring safety and HIPAA compliance, inventory management, and collaboration with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure efficient specimen processing and workflow. Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and adherence to regulatory standards. Night shift, weekend coverage, and reliable attendance are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a laboratory assistant training or phlebotomy program or training course required
- A combination of education and experience (i.e., 1-2 years) as a phlebotomist may be considered in lieu of program completion
- 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or clinical setting required
- Experience with specimen processing, laboratory equipment, and quality control procedures preferred
