Job Summary
Oversee prevention, evaluation, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured student-athletes by recognizing and managing injuries, providing coverage during practices and games, and taping and wrapping athletes. Coordinate medical coverage for all sports events, manage department inventory and supplies, and supervise, educate, and recruit student and graduate assistant athletic trainers. Make proper referrals to team physicals as needed while traveling extensively with athletic teams and working evening and weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from an accredited college or university
- minimum of 1 year of experience in collegiate or professional athletic training
- Must be able to travel extensively both in state and out of state
- evening and weekend work
- Demonstrated knowledge of injury prevention techniques
- injury evaluation
- Familiarity with NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA governing rules
- A valid North Carolina drivers' license
- National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certificate
- license to practice as an Athletic Trainer in North Carolina

- Strong oral and written presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day
- ability to travel up to 50% of the time with athletic teams
- ability to work long hours and odd shifts with minimal time off
- ability to lift injured athletes and coolers in excess of 50 pounds
