Job Summary
Coordinate client care services through comprehensive admission assessments and ongoing care plan development. Provide nursing care, direction, and leadership to unit care team activities while acting as a client advocate. Lead quality improvement, safety, and infection control initiatives. Work 12-hour shifts with set, block schedules to maintain work-life balance, delivering one-on-one direct care focused on overall health and wellness for Veterans. Required Qualifications
- A current license to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska
- Must pass background checks and complete pre-employment drug screening
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice
- Accepted standards of care
- Policies and procedures governing nursing care
- Sanitation and infection control standards, policies and procedures
- Techniques of providing quality nursing care
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to push/pull occasionally up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis
- Ability to frequently bend at the waist and neck
- Ability to frequently twist at the waist
- Ability to walk or stand up to 50% of the shift
