Job Summary
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides residents’ personal care and assistance with daily living activities under the direction of licensed nursing staff. Responsibilities include hygiene care (bedpans, baths, showers, backrubs), helping with meals, feeding as needed, ambulating and transferring residents, assisting with mobility and positioning, and transporting residents to appointments and activities. The role supports meal service, ensures appropriate utensils are within reach, delivers snacks and hydration per center policy, and documents actions, vital signs, weight, intake/output, and observations. Maintains resident safety and comfort, adheres to infection control guidelines, protects resident confidentiality, and follows care plans and center policies. Performs basic nursing procedures under supervision, prepares equipment for treatments, answers call lights, and communicates with nursing staff about resident needs. Keeps units, treatment areas, and linen closets clean and organized, assists with post-mortem care as instructed, and participates in shift change reporting. Must hold valid CNA certification; high school diploma preferred. Equal opportunity employer statement included.
