Job Summary
Ensure every dish, piece of flatware, pot, and appliance meets the highest sanitation standards by carefully washing items by hand and/or operating the dish machine while keeping the wash area organized. Maintain the kitchen by keeping all equipment—including ovens, floors, walls, walk-ins, vents, and cooking services—clean and sanitary, performing deep cleaning projects as needed. Follow established safety and security policies and OSHA guidelines, reporting issues to maintenance or security. This role requires physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for long periods in variable temperatures and noise levels. Prior hotel and dishwashing experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Prior hotel and dishwashing experience
- Ability to use various pieces of kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly
- Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms
- Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
- Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range
- Ability to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises
- Ability to work long hours
- Ability to multi task
- Communication skills so as to be able to convey and understand information and ideas conveyed to you in English
