Job Summary
Detox and inpatient substance abuse treatment nurse provides thorough patient assessments and monitors withdrawal and vital signs, administers prescribed medications, and delivers supportive care and education to patients and families. Collaborates with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals to develop individualized treatment plans. Responds to medical emergencies and behavioral crises, documents records accurately, and participates in ongoing training and staff education. Role involves fast-paced inpatient care with potential night/weekend shifts, focusing on recovery support and relapse prevention within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Education: ADN or BSN from an accredited program
- Current RN license in Kansas
- CPR/BLS certification
- Experience: 1 year in substance abuse treatment or mental health nursing preferred
- Certification in addiction nursing (CARN) is a plus
