Job Summary
Administer, pour, pass, and document all routinely prescribed medications per physician orders, observing the five rights for safe administration. Order medications from the pharmacy seven days prior to stockouts and ensure timely delivery to residents. Document every administration in the medical record, date and initial the bubble pack, and take vital signs prior to giving meds that could affect them. Administer PRN medications as ordered, report any medication errors or resident reactions to the Wellness Director immediately, and assist with daily care tasks including toileting, grooming, bathing, and feeding. Ensure resident privacy, safety, and comfort while maintaining the five core values of love, kindness, honesty, goodness, and fairness.
Required Qualifications
- Valid QMAP certification in CO
- Successful completion of state approved Medication Administration training
- First Aid certification as required by the ALF regulations
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience administering medication in an assisted living setting
- Must be capable of making decisions with the interest of the residents at heart
- Must be able to read and write English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, etc.
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English
- Must be able to understand and follow written and oral directions
- Must show good judgement in recognizing symptoms indicative of a resident's change in condition
- Must be able to work with licensed nurses
- Must be aware of limitations and not attempt to exceed these limitations
- Must attend monthly in-service education and training within the community
- Must have experience working in Assisted Living or Memory Care with a good work record
Desired Qualifications
- Some previous experience in health-care
- Minimum three years' experience in senior living
- A passion to work with seniors
- Previous experience with an Assisted Living community
