FT Nights Item Processing Specialist

Job Summary
Process and balance NSF items, transmit electronic return files to the Federal Reserve, and use imaging applications to create IRD items and manage statement printing workflows. Balance grouped check and transaction items across various capture methods, perform MICR encoding and duplicate verification, and generate customer statements using the AFS system. Provide timely responses to client inquiries, ensure quality control, and prepare daily and evening processing reports for community banks. Support continuous process improvement and offer backup assistance to Item Processing and Balance Room functions. This 4pm-1am shift empowers local community banks to deliver big-bank services.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Intermediate data-entry proficiency
- Excellent attention to detail and visual error detection
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- High finger dexterity and good hand strength
- Strong attendance and reliability
- Comfortable using a computer and 10-key keypad
- 4pm-1am CST, Monday through Friday
- Located in Hutchinson, KS
Desired Qualifications
- General bank operations experience
- Introductory knowledge of financial data processing and balancing
- Familiarity with bank bookkeeping and item transaction processing
- Understanding of traditional and image-based bank processing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and strong organizational abilities
