Job Summary
Maintenance Technician I in Ogden's Storm Water/Sewer Division. Performs semi-skilled and unskilled labor in street, sewer/storm, traffic, and utility maintenance; operates construction and maintenance equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loader, backhoe, vactor, flush truck, and more; performs preventive maintenance, installs street barricades and cones, and directs traffic around work sites. Be available for recall during storm sewer emergencies and perform snow removal and ice control as required. Must be willing to stand by for a one-week period and respond to emergency calls 24-hours a day during that period. Requires High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of maintenance experience; CDL with tanker endorsement within 150 days of hire; wastewater 1 certification within one year; completion of NIMS IS100/IS200/IS700/IS800 within one year; ability to perform heavy manual labor and communicate effectively. Work is outdoors with varying conditions; 12-hour shifts may be required, including weekends/holidays; benefits listed under Ogden City.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of general maintenance experience
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Class A Utah CDL driver's license with tanker endorsement within 150 days of hire
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a wastewater 1 certification within one year (if hired in the Sewer Division)
- Employee will be required to complete NIMS IS100, IS200, IS700 and IS800 within one year of hire
