Job Summary
Teach approved vocational curriculum to students in the Goodwill Career Training Program, ensuring core competencies are covered and preparing them for professional certification exams. Facilitate group sessions using established lesson plans while modifying content to support student retention and discourage withdrawal. Manage classroom discipline, assign and grade assignments, and maintain accurate records of student progress and development. Coordinate with staff to register students for exams, supply instructional materials, and respond to information requests from leadership and sponsors. Uphold Goodwill's mission by serving as a community resource and collaborating with stakeholders to meet academic and career needs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years experience in training, teaching, or classroom facilitation
- certification or licensure within the field from a nationally recognized organization or State agency as pertinent to the field of instruction
- ability to maintain current certification/license during employment as an instructor with Good Career Academy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to effectively collaborate with multiple constituencies to achieve mission goals
- Strong analytical skills

- oral, written, and presentation skills
- proficiency with in MS Office Word, PPT, and email
- ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
- valid driver's license
- automobile insurance coverage
- ability to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business
- Must be authorized as an OSHA Trainer by meeting experience and training requirements as defined by the US Department of Labor
- Current and active Texas nurse license
- minimum 1 years' nursing experience in a long-term care environment
- completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides
- Current Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License
- Certified proof of successful completion of course time of 40 hours in safety education and driver training
- Minimum 3 years of tractor-trailer driving experience within the last ten years
- NCCER Master Trainer or Craft Instructor approved by the ATS to teach NCCER Curriculum
- experience at a minimum journey- or technical level (at least 4 years) in specific craft
- A minimum of three years' experience as a certified teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance related training program in the specific craft that is being taught
- MSSC Certified Logistics Authorized Instructor
- ability to pass instructor training to teach Certified Logistics Associate and Certified Logistics Technician Program
- at least three years of teaching Warehouse related or vocational/technical logistics program
