Job Summary
FT Health Care Aide provides daily living support, medication assistance, and delegated tasks to residents in a non-profit care setting. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, hygiene, grooming, eating, toileting), following resident service plans, performing delegated nursing tasks after training, light housekeeping, providing companionship, assisting with dining and meal service, documenting resident care and changes, supporting transfers to/from hospital, and ensuring privacy and dignity. Requires Care Aide/CHW certificate, BC registry eligibility, 1 year related experience, knowledge of healthcare laws, English communication, and ability to handle confidential information; First Aid/CPR/Naloxone administration and Food Safe Level 1 are preferred. Compensation starts at $25.95/hour with benefits, full-time hours (40 per week) on rotating shifts, and eligibility for benefits after 20 hours/week; in Prince George, BC, Canada; in-person work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Care Aide/Community Health Worker certificate
- Registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare laws and regulations
- Experience in the areas of Community Living and Licensed Care is preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Current Emergency First Aid Certificate (Please refer to the Certificates accepted in B.C. - WorkSafeBC)
- Willing to complete Food Safe Certificate (Level 1)
