Job Summary
Gastrointestinal Technician works under an RN to perform a variety of duties for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, including setting up instruments and supplies, assisting during procedures, maintaining aseptic technique, handling specimens (biopsies, cultures, frozen sections), proper labeling and recording, restocking and cleaning equipment, and providing patient support before and during the procedure; requires knowledge of medical terminology, strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to C-I-CARE standards.
