Job Summary
Supervise children and classroom activities while ensuring safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate childcare practices. Responsibilities include providing daily care for children, implementing positive behavior management, planning and participating in age-appropriate activities, observing and documenting child development, and maintaining clean and safe facilities. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and meet licensing age requirements, as well as complete required screenings and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
- Must be at least 16 years of age (or 15 if in an approved program).
- Complete a physical & tuberculosis screening.
- Successful completion of a criminal history, child abuse & adult abuse background check.
Desired Qualifications
- Multi-lingual skills
- Prior experience working or volunteering with youth in a group setting.
- Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
- Knowledge of early childhood education programs and techniques.
- Knowledge of child development theory and practice.
- Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children.
