Job Summary
Load and unload freight according to DOT requirements on and off trucks using hand trucks, dollies, or tow motors. Sort and secure items in position on trucks or docks to prevent damage, handling cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, and other materials. Process all daily paperwork associated with job execution and communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Work Tuesday through Saturday starting at 2 AM, performing heavy lifting and standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending, and reaching above and below waist level. Comply with federal, state, and company regulations while maintaining a safe, professional manner to reduce personal and employee risks.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a NON -Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
- Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen
- Must have the ability to read and write the English language
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Must consent to a ten-year check on work history
- Must be available and willing to work
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift various types of materials including cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etc
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, twist, carry, bend, reach, and lift both above and below waist level
- Must be able to work in a safe and professional manner
- Must comply with federal, state, and company regulations
- Must be able to process all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the job
