Job Summary
Load and unload freight according to DOT requirements on and off trucks using hand trucks, dollies, or pallet jacks. Sort and secure items in position on trucks to prevent damage while handling cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, and other materials. Process all paperwork daily associated with job execution and comply with federal, state, and company regulations. Perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, and read shipping labels. Work in a safe manner, reducing personal and employee risks through proper lifting techniques and equipment use. Maintain a positive, supportive, and cooperative work environment. Available Monday through Friday starting at 9 AM.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum age of 17 years of age
- Must pass a NON -Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
- Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen
- Must have the ability to read and write the English language and also perform simple mathematical calculations
- Must consent to a ten-year check on work history
- You will be an at-will employee throughout your employment with US CARGO
- Must be available and willing to work
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift various types of materials including cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etc
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, twist, carry, bend, reach, and lift both above and below waist level
- Must be able to work in a safe manner so as to reduce personal risks and risk to fellow employees
- Must be able to comply with federal, state, and company regulations
- Must be able to process all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the job
- Must be able to work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
