Job Summary

Provide supervision and guidance to individuals with disabilities in a group home, managing personal care, medication administration, and crisis management. Ensure compliance with agency policies, 6100 and 6400 regulations, and Individual Service Plans while documenting outcomes accurately. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, and feeding, and perform housekeeping duties including laundry and shopping. Act as an advocate for community integration, support emotional needs, and encourage independence through skill-building. Maintain Medication Administration Certification, complete 24 hours of annual training, and report safety issues immediately. Work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays in a role requiring physical stamina to lift up to 100 pounds and handle challenging behaviors.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have experience in the field
  • Must have no criminal record
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to physically lift 40-100 pounds unassisted
  • Must be able to physically lift 100 pounds or more assisted
  • Must be able to reach above head and below knees
  • Must be able to endure repetitive motions with right and left hands
  • Must be able to reach out as to pull and push a wheelchair
  • Must be able to make twisting and bending motions at the waist
  • Must have good reaction response to protect personal space
  • Must have a working knowledge of all agency policies and procedures
  • Must ensure compliance with 6100 and 6400 regulations
  • Must ensure compliance with updated ODP requirements
  • Must complete at least 24 hours of training annually
  • Must be willing to utilize/learn computers for daily documentation
  • Must maintain Medication Administration Certification
  • Must be able to identify work safety issues, injuries, and report immediately
  • Must maintain and adhere to ethics of confidentiality
  • Must be able to encourage individuals to be independent with their daily skills
  • Must be able to encourage and respect choices made by individuals
  • Must be able to complete required documentation in agency approved electronic health record
  • Must be able to elevate incidents identified in the Incident Management Bulletin to a point person
  • Must be able to use positive and respectful language with your supervisor, co-workers, and individuals
  • Must be able to utilize and model everyday life philosophy in supporting individuals
  • Must be able to perform any and all related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor
  • Must be able to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to support individuals who have an intellectual disability and could have co-occurring mental health disorders
  • Must be able to handle individuals who have the potential to be carrying a communicable disease
  • Must be able to get a pre-employment physical
  • Must be able to get a physical with a mantoux TB test
