Job Summary
Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer, taking orders at the bakery counter, and assisting with needs throughout the store. Check orders for the day, set up a timeline and production schedule, and verify details including size, deco pack, icing needs, and dates. Decorate bakery items in a timely manner, develop daily bakery orders for bakers, and track retail production to identify tasks for co-workers. Lead part-time employees by instructing and reviewing their work while operating as a point of contact for the Bakery Manager. Order supplies for the decorating area, pull cases for work, and list items to fill or replace. Deliver product and set up wedding cakes on site outside the store, maintaining proper sanitation and adhering to Hy-Vee's dress code and hygiene standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
- Ability to follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
- Employment contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen
