Job Summary
Be the first point of customer contact, understand customer needs, and direct customers regarding construction projects while providing accurate estimates for additions, renovations, and garage packages. Maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers, place special orders, and manage deliveries. Respond to inquiries via email and phone, investigate customer complaints, and open or close the Home Centre as directed. Ensure accurate billing, maintain product knowledge across all merchandise lines, and perform administrative duties or assist on the sales floor. This role requires proficiency in Seljax and Quotetracker software, knowledge of building codes, and the ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience in Hardware and Building Materials
- recognized estimator certificate or equivalent experience
- sufficient experience in building materials and construction methods to effectively operate in all areas of the department
- strongly service oriented and motivated, and capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner
- well organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with minimum supervision
- proficient in computer-based sale software and programs (Seljax, Quotetracker)
- sufficient working knowledge of the Saskatoon and National Building Codes
- ability and experience in professional selling
- Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends

- prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics and training sessions
