Job Summary
Prepare all menu items with strict adherence to specifications for buffet and restaurant outlets, including salads, sandwiches, sauces, and reheating soups and gravies. Assist Cook 1 and Cook 2 with meat, seafood, and raw food items while preparing food for catering and special events. Stock, setup, and tear down buffets as instructed, control food waste, and ensure all temperature logs are completed accurately. Clean and sanitize workstations, inspect areas daily for hazards, and comply with food safety regulations and PPE requirements. Report injuries, accidents, and defective equipment immediately to the Chef de Partie. Perform other duties as required by management within a fast-paced, 24-hour operation involving non-traditional hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- minimum of one (1) year related work experience
- Completion of Safe Food Handling course or Safe Food Handler Certificate
- Strong knife handling skills
- Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety requirements
- Ability to perform tasks effectively and safely within prescribed time limits
- Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management as part of a team
- Ability to successfully pass criminal record check
