Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic assessments and provide individual, group, and family counseling for adolescent females with complex needs. Collaborate with management, behavioral specialists, and teachers to ensure safety, stability, and wellness of students placed through DCYF. Deliver emergency crisis intervention and support direct service staff in implementing evidence-based treatments like Trauma Systems Therapy throughout the milieu. Provide flexible evening coverage and emergency coverage as needed, including residential and community visits. Requires a Master's degree and Rhode Island licensure as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Mental Health Counselor. Spanish, ASL, and other multilingual skills are compensated.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in human services (psychology, social work, marriage/family, etc.)
- Eligibility to be licensed in Rhode Island as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist or Mental Health Counselor
- Proficiency in professional writing
- Skilled in operating various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs
- Current driver's license, reliable transportation, registration and auto insurance
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs
- Ability to be trained in and implement de-escalation techniques utilizing Handle with Care when necessary
