Job Summary
Develop and implement food safety programs while maintaining documentation for HACCP, GMP, SOPs, and employee training. Provide leadership to ensure quality standards, safety guidelines, and legal requirements are met, and support continuous improvement across quality management systems. Collaborate with operations, R&D, and brand teams to coordinate departmental activities, identify production problems, and investigate food safety concerns. Conduct audits and inspections, including internal and external plant reviews, and perform product testing for physical and chemical conformance. Set up quality assurance systems for proper certification and consult with senior management to resolve efficiency issues. Requires 2-5 years of Quality Management experience, a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, and proficiency in Microsoft applications. Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of Quality Management experience
- Bachelor's degree, in Food Science or equivalent
- Proficient at Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications
- Math skills (algebra, geometry, statistics)
- Willingness to spend time in a manufacturing environment which requires wearing personal protective equipment, food safety approved attire and following GMP guidelines
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for writing policies and interacting with auditors
- Experience preparing for and leading third-party and regulatory audits (SQF, FDA, USDA, state/local departments)
- Proven ability to align FSQA programs with broader brand integrity, labeling, and clean-label initiatives
- Strong cross-functional communication skills, especially with operations, R&D, regulatory, and marketing teams
