Job Summary
Conduct full inventory of all freezers using the Freezer Pro tracking system, retrieving and delivering samples while updating movements in the designated software. Consolidate high-use samples into unlocked freezers and perform monthly inspections to remove frost and ice buildup, followed by annual defrost procedures. Dispose of unidentified, outdated, or non-required samples and ensure all inventory records remain accurate and compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain proper freezer management and sample organization to meet quality and accuracy requirements within the PPD Laboratory Services team.
Required Qualifications
- High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2-4 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience
- Proven experience with freezer inventory and sample management, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Strong knowledge of GMP regulations
- Familiarity with inventory systems, such as LIMS
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring all samples and freezers are current, compliant, and error-free
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software applications
- Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner
- Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours
- Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
- Able to work in non-traditional work environments
- Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency
- May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments
- Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities
