Job Summary
Conduct daily food safety tasks including pre-, operational, and post-operational checks, temperature monitoring, cooler/freezer inspections, thermometer calibration, and sanitizer checks. Perform microbiological testing via in-house ATP testing and environmental swabbing, while overseeing third-party cleaning activities and pest control management. Answer inquiries regarding food safety procedures, reinforce Good Manufacturing Practices through routine floor inspections and self-audits, and report non-compliance issues to supervisors to ensure prompt corrective actions. Ensure adherence to local, state, federal, and international environmental, health, and food safety regulations. Assist with customer audits, health department inspections, and training sessions to maintain staff compliance with relevant standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food processing, hospitality, or a high-paced catering establishment with floor monitoring
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
- Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented capabilities
- Knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Assurance principles
- Food Safety Certification, such as Safe SERV training
- Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures
- Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Familiarity with HACCP, ISO, and food safety systems
- Preferred certification in HACCP
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across various functions
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
