FRU Production Manager

Job Summary
Direct one or more areas of the manufacturing environment to meet production, quality, and cost objectives across normally two shifts. Determine requirements for equipment, materials, and manpower resources while overseeing daily operations. Represent Operations on cross-functional leadership teams to drive site and business goals, managing performance appraisals, promotions, and terminations. Lead significant projects and improvement initiatives, including scheduling, planning, budgeting, and control, while ensuring compliance with ISO 9000 procedures and safety standards. Coordinate the ordering and distribution of products, parts, and accessories to maximize sales potential with good inventory control. This role participates in establishing the site's annual operating plans and focuses on improving complex performance through ELS efforts. The incumbent works within a global materials science company serving industries worldwide, including retail, logistics, and automotive.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years Operations/Manufacturing experience
- 4+ manufacturing leadership experience
- Demonstrated successful experience in leading and managing individuals and teams
- Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels and execution
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization
- Excellent organizational and people skills
- Project management skills
- Ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner
- Minimum Bachelor's degree, preferred from Industrial Engineering
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred from Industrial Engineering
- Knowledge of the assigned manufacturing industry
- Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies (e.g. ELS, continuous flow, cellular etc.)
- Ability to integrate those strategies into the operation
