Frozen Food/Dairy Clerk

Job Summary
Stock and maintain product levels by filling all items on display, ensuring proper rotation using the first-in-first-out method, and keeping the sales floor clean and tidy. Assist guests with finding items, taking orders and special requests, and answering the telephone with proper etiquette. Ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm, while maintaining grocery supplies and following company safety policies. Perform regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, providing adequate notice for occasional absences. This part-time role supports Hometown Grocers' Frozen Food & Dairy department, focusing on guest service and department profitability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
- Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
- Proper training and knowledge of proper lifting techniques
- Proper training and knowledge of trash compactor
- Proper training and knowledge of baler
- Proper training and knowledge of power equipment
- Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
