Frontline Truck & Bus Technician

Job Summary
Conduct frontline support for Volvo trucks, buses, and coaches in a designated geographical area, or return to depot maintenance and repair activities when frontline work is unavailable. Diagnose faults, carry out tests, and effect permanent repairs on commercial vehicles while completing paperwork for warranty, contract, and retail work. Perform preventative maintenance to minimize customer costs and maintain knowledge of technical data through manufacturer training. Requires City & Guilds level 3 in HGV Maintenance, valid UK driving licence, and ability to work under pressure within a small team. Schedule includes Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm with weekend call-out rota coverage.
Required Qualifications
- City & Guilds level 3 in HGV Maintenance or other equivalent qualification
- Experience in the diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of vehicles
- Organised and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail
- Undertaken manufacturers training courses and maintained knowledge of work methods and technical data
- Full and current UK driving licence
- Friendly, confident, and professional manner with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a larger team as well as on their own initiative
- Excellent Job Card write up skills and highly efficient
- Flexible in their normal working week to ensure coverage and support of customers within their designated areas
- Available for cover on some weekends as part of a weekend call out rota
- Monday to Friday working hours from 8am to 4.30pm
