Job Summary

Cover the front desk from 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM, managing office access, opening and closing procedures, and handling incoming communications via phone, email, and mail. Assist guests with accessing services by completing screener forms and scheduling meetings, while alerting the Operations Coordinator of urgent facility issues. Manage information flow to ensure proper recording and timely routing, and provide bilingual support to non-English speakers as needed. After onboarding, schedule intakes and follow-ups for eligible guests, provide legal and holistic referrals for non-eligible guests, and collect and log incoming monies. Work at least two 8-hour shifts monthly with flexibility for short-notice availability across assigned San Francisco offices, reporting directly to the Senior Frontline Partner - Operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work at least two shifts a month, with a schedule of 8:45am-5:15pm, plus an unpaid 30-minute meal break and two paid 15-minute rest breaks, in any assigned office
  • Comfortable and open to receiving and accepting shift opportunities with little notice, potentially the day prior or morning of
  • Exhibits cultural humility and genuinely enjoys working with members of the community, including those experiencing trauma and/or who have mental health conditions
  • The ability to create a welcoming and enthusiastic atmosphere
  • Willing to learn basic legal concepts
  • Highly functional computer and typing skills, including a WPM greater than 45 WPM
  • Must have some experience working in an office environment
  • Must be self-directed, able to work independently, and able to solve difficult or ambiguous problems
  • This position requires the ability to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Desired Qualifications

  • Currently lives in, or has previously lived or worked in the West Side neighborhoods of San Francisco
  • Completion of an associate's or bachelor's degree in social work or similar field
  • Experience working with low-income and vulnerable populations
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness or substance use disorders
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Bilingual Spanish/English or Cantonese/English
