Job Summary
Lead CNC machining teams in executing machine work, ensuring compliance with production schedules and quality standards. Operate advanced CNC functions to cut, mill, and stamp metal parts per design specifications, while independently managing machine changeovers, tooling, and calibrations. Monitor machine performance, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and implement Lean Manufacturing practices to optimize efficiency and eliminate waste. Conduct routine quality inspections using measurement tools, perform first article inspections, and document non-conformance issues with root cause analysis. Maintain a safe production environment through safety walks, equipment checks, and adherence to PPE protocols. Train new team members on machining processes and techniques, and coordinate with engineering and logistics teams to address production challenges. Work the 3rd shift with flexibility for overtime as needed to meet production goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience
- Familiarity with machining techniques, tools, and equipment
- Computer literacy, including data entry, basic knowledge of ERP systems, and ability to use barcode scanners
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to use machining equipment, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively
- Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards
- Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift
- Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes
- Must be available for overtime as needed to meet production goals
- Ability to work weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
- Familiarity with quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies
- Forklift operation certification (specific to AD Systems roles)
