Job Summary
Frontline Advocate at Brooklyn Family Justice Center (on-site). Responsibilities include greeting clients at the Reception Desk, handling inquiries, providing information and referrals, conducting virtual screenings, assisting with document delivery, guiding clients through eligibility and referrals, coordinating client flow and scheduling, maintaining organized reception areas, supporting collaboration with District Attorney staff, entering client data into the client application, informing clients about events and programs, soliciting client feedback, and providing coverage for Client Navigators. Requires strong customer service, crisis-intervention skills, trauma-informed engagement, and ability to work with diverse populations; associate degree with relevant experience (or at least three years) and bilingual/multilingual capabilities preferred. Must be able to work full-time, on-site in Brooklyn, NY, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, and a salary of approximately $55,570.27 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree and relevant work experience or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience in advocacy, survivor services, or customer service
- experience working with survivors of domestic and gender-based violence
- understanding of dynamics of domestic and gender-based violence and related systems
- trauma-informed engagement practices with survivors
- bilingual or multilingual fluency strongly preferred (Arabic, Russian, Spanish, Uzbek)
- ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary, diverse team and promote equity and professionalism
- U.S. work authorization required
- background check, fingerprinting, and State Central Registry clearance may be required
