Frontend Software Engineer

Job Summary
Assist with the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications through JavaScript, CSS, and HTML coding, including code reviews and unit testing. Work closely with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to build holistic user experiences and interact with REST-based APIs. Troubleshoot customer-reported issues and provide application support while defining and maintaining data lake/warehouse solutions. Conduct quality assurance testing and ensure compliance with DoD 8140/8570 standards as directed. This role requires a Top Secret security clearance and 5+ years of frontend experience, with a hybrid schedule averaging 2-3 days at the Columbia, MD office.
Required Qualifications
- Active or current US government Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance
- At least 5 years of experience with front end software development/engineering with a B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and one or more web application frameworks (ie: Vue / React / Angular / Backbone) or similar demonstrated competency
- Familiarity with Git or other version control software
- Comfortable working on a *nix command line
- Self-motivation; Ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues / tickets accordingly
- Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed
- Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 2-3 days per week at our Columbia, MD office
- Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed
- DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer
